For more than seven decades, our family has been involved in the development, mining, processing and trading of mineral resources.
From the iron ore that marked the beginning of our journey in 1953 to the quartz resources we are developing today, our mineral portfolio reflects both our experience and our evolving vision for the future.
Our current focus includes
supported by wider experience across coal, copper and gold and international mineral portfolios across Asia and Africa..

Iron ore has a special place in our history.
Our family's mining journey began with iron ore in the Bellary region of Karnataka in 1953, at a time when India's industrial economy was beginning to take shape.
Iron ore remains fundamental to modern industry. It is the primary raw material for iron and steel, supporting infrastructure, construction, transportation, engineering and manufacturing.
Our experience with iron ore has given us an understanding of the complete mineral cycle — from resource evaluation and extraction to mineral handling, logistics, quality requirements and market positioning.
Our focus includes:
Our approach
Iron ore mining is not simply about extracting volume.
Grade, recovery, consistency, logistics and market requirements all influence the value of a resource.
Our objective is to develop iron ore resources systematically, maximize recoverable value and reduce avoidable losses throughout the mining and handling process.
Manganese is an essential industrial mineral, particularly important to the production of steel.
Its role in improving the properties of steel makes manganese an important component of infrastructure, construction, engineering and manufacturing supply chains.
Our experience with manganese forms part of the broader mineral expertise developed by our family over several decades.
Our manganese activities focus on:
Resource evaluation
Understanding geological characteristics, grade distribution and recoverable potential.
Selective extraction
Planning extraction according to the characteristics of the deposit.
Quality management
Maintaining consistency in mineral quality and specifications.
Processing & beneficiation
Evaluating appropriate methods to improve recovery and product quality.
Logistics & market linkage
Connecting mineral resources with domestic and international markets.
From resource to market
The commercial value of manganese depends on more than the mineral existing within a deposit.
Grade, impurities, recoverability, sizing, processing requirements and end-user specifications all matter.
Our approach is therefore built around understanding the complete value chain.
Chromite is the principal commercial source of chromium and plays an important role in the production of ferrochrome and stainless steel.
Its industrial applications extend into sectors where corrosion resistance, strength and durability are critical.
As our mineral portfolio continues to evolve, chromite represents another area in which geological understanding, responsible extraction and quality-focused mineral management are important.
Our focus
Our objective is to approach chromite development with the same principle that guides our wider mineral portfolio:
The value of a mineral is determined not only by what lies underground, but by how intelligently that resource is developed.

Building capability across the mineral value chain.
The future of mining will not be defined only by how much material can be extracted.
It will increasingly depend on:
Resource knowledge.
Technology.
Recovery.
Processing.
Quality.
Efficiency.
Traceability.
Our direction is therefore to progressively strengthen capabilities across exploration, mine development, extraction, mineral processing, beneficiation, logistics and trading.
This approach allows us to work with both traditional bulk minerals and more specialised resources.
It also creates a natural connection between the minerals that shaped our past and the higher-value materials we are developing for the future.
FROM IRON TO SILICON
A mineral journey across generations.
Our first generation built its mining experience around iron ore.
The second generation expanded that experience across manganese, coal, copper, gold, granite and quartz, together with exposure to mineral opportunities across India, Asia and Africa.
Today, the third generation is continuing that journey.
Our work now includes quartz mining and the development of higher-quality and high-purity mineral resources, alongside our continued involvement in traditional minerals.
This evolution reflects a changing mineral economy.
From:
Bulk resources → Specialised materials
Extraction → Processing
Volume → Quality
Commodity supply → Value creation
And ultimately:
FROM IRON TO SILICON
The transition is not a single step. It is a value chain.
Mining is where that chain begins.
OUR MINERAL PORTFOLIO
IRON ORE
Industrial foundations and steel supply chains.
MANGANESE
An essential mineral for steel and industrial applications.
CHROMITE
A source of chromium supporting ferrochrome and stainless-steel industries.
QUARTZ
A strategic focus for higher-quality and high-purity mineral development.
GRANITE

OUR COMMITMENT
The mineral may change. The responsibility does not.
Since 1953, our family has remained connected to India's mineral resources.
Three generations later, our understanding of mining continues to evolve.
We believe responsible mineral development means:
Understanding the resource.
Mining systematically.
Maximising recovery.
Minimising waste.
Protecting people and the environment.
Creating long-term value.
Mining With Purpose.
Resources With Responsibility.
Building for the Future.
